Windrock Current Conditions

Windrock Current Conditions

Postby 1speedbrian » Sat Mar 06, 2010 7:36 pm

I made a few runs today, trails were dusty dry in some areas a bit slow in others but rarely any mud to speak of and I had an absolute blast. There are some seriously eroded sections of trail here and there, you will be cookin along and all of a sudden the trail will be much rockier than I remember. If you take the long way at the end of the Windmill trail it feels like your in a creek-bed just before the car. The leafy trails road very well. I've heard the top of the Windmill trail is messed up so we made our runs from the mid point and everything was great down that side. I never road middle finger but the guy's i was shutting with said it seemed chewed up at the top. I never saw any major down wood but lots of small stuff along the way that intimidated my lines.

All in all, the trails are ready for shredding.

I hope to see a good crew out tommarow. :D :D :D

This being your first spring after a lot of riding the previous year the erosion may seem isolated. But this happens every year. Its a steep mtn that gets a lot of rain and runoff. Its actually good in my opinion. Riding the same trails over and over gets boring after awhile. But each year, the rain and runoff bring new wrinkles that are fun to master again. Leaving the leaves on during the winter slows the erosion some, but Windrock does what Windrock does.

Good riding yesterday. Below is a vid from Sunday's action.

Very cool. That is one of the best helmet cam vids I have seen from Windrock. Having a rider in the frame makes such a difference. Good work.
